I made the requested changes on my submission on SH yesterday morning. Whilst the chapter is visible to me in the author profile, it hasn't moved into the 'recently updated' section.
Now, I've just tried to submit the first chapter of my new story, and it tells me that Ashwinder is "locked". Upon clicking, it asked me to choose a valid option. WTF???

Date: 2006-10-23 10:45 am (UTC)1. The recently updated thing is f***ed. MM and I discussed it this AM, as have all the admins. Our programmer dude has been told to fix it as a priority. We are going to have it so that the date updated will be the date approved, so if people wait a while for validation they will still get on the front page. We know it's not working right at the moment, and are sorry. It WILL be fixed. People need to get front page exposure when they update, otherwise their fics might not get the readership.
2. For categories, you cannot click "Ashwinder" as a category, because we are all one archive. But if you click the appropriate category just below it the story will eventually (when we are all working hunky dory) come up on a search in that category and sub-category. Does that make sense? In the validation queue, the categories show as colour coded - so it does work, it just takes some getting used to.
So you'd click
Ashwinder (no clicking)
-romance
-humour
-pron
-drama
And would get the result that your story was an Ashwinder drama story, or comedy story, as appropriate.
Any better?

As to 2. Thank you *bows*. I followed your instructions and managed to submit it, although it's not showing up in my 'queue status' *snerk*, but that might just be a delay or something.
Thank you for your speedy help!

Date: 2006-10-23 04:19 pm (UTC)You can't click on Ashwinder anymore, you have to click on one of the subcategories beneath it ... It's the same with Occlumency, it comes up as locked. Strange!
