I'm interested in finding out the average number of review per reads, could you humour me, please? Look at the number of reads you get, and the number of reviews for any given chapter. Divide the number of reads by the number of reviews. Thanks bunches.

There are a lot of variable to this response: archive, length of story, whether it's a WIP or completed work, and type of story (erotica or drama or angst.)

In general, my earlier stories garnered 1-2 reviews per 100 reads. As I became better known, the review:hit ratio increased, but it's still not more than 10 reviews per 100 reads, except for my more erotic bits. But they're still around 15 reviews per 100 reads.

I'm not a wildly popular author like SnarkyRoxy or RachelW or example, so I might not be a good choice for the survey.

You are an excellent choice. Basically, I need a good idea as to the range for an article on reviewing. I'd like to encourage readers to leave reviews, and in order to do that, I want to be able to give an educated average number, something along the lines of, "An author will receive between one and fifty reviews per five-hundred reads..." So, your reply was very helpful, thank you!

You're most welcome.

I'm procrastinating ... can you tell? I think I'm just so pressured my mind is rebelling by going into stall mode.

I'm so glad you had this question! ::grins::

*gasp* You procrastinating??? That's amazing because for once, I'm not, and I'm the queen of procrastination generally. Is it the exchange fic? I read some of the comments last night and thought the one suggesting writing all three endings was excellent! DD used to be into those R L Stine books, in which you could choose how to continue every few pages to arrive at different endings. They provided never-ending entertainment. *laughs*

::snicker:: Yeah, me. I've been writing desultorily, meandering my way into the end of this story. I'm not sure I've got the image clear in my head though ... I'm working on it. I only managed five pages today. ::sigh::

::laughs:: Three endings. I'll be happy to get to one.

Good luck on your non-procrastination day!

Have some *muse_vibes* :-) I hope the writing-day worked out well for you.

The non-procrastination day has been productive. I've been patchworking fabric with musical themes for a skirt. I feel really accomplished now, even though I didn't write.

I agree with the 10% ratio. I have had the same, and even when I was writting in the French fandom, it was the same one.
Must be something universal :D

10%? That does seem a lot, one review for every ten reads. Lucky you!

Maybe because it was the French fandom :) or maybe the fact my stories in English didn't get that many readings. On Ash, it was 10%, i remember thinking there so much more reading, but more review as well!
