Yes. Pretty much every meal in this home is homemade. Splendid of you to offer, thank you! I'll put up some sauerkraut as well. And I probably should grate a few more potatoes. Looks like a dinner party. :)
The very ones. But if you don't grate the potatoes by hand, the taste is very different, and I simply prefer the hand-made ones. Why don't you pop over and try them? We're having such fun! :)
Latkes, YUM!! I'll be making those next week sometime. We are *still* trying to get rid of all our breads and yeasty things. I love latkes, matzoh balls, caramel matzoh crunch... but you can keep the gefilte fish!
Oooh, so do I! I am grateful to my mother for gifting me a cuisinart. Now I have latkes whenever I'm in the mood. Served with apple sauce and sour cream, so folks can choose whichever suits them.
Oooooohhhhh, the author of my favourite original WIP is on LJ *iz excited*
I would love a cuisinart. But I still would grate the potatoes by hand, LOL. I don't know if it's fond memories of eons ago, when I was a child and allowed to help my grandma to peel the apples and potatoes, and because I loved grating the potatoes so much better than peeling them, the reward for peeling a potato or apple was that I was allowed to grate a potato. Or maybe they really do taste different if hand-grated. *shrugs*
I prefer them with apple sauce rather than sour cream. I also love them with sauerkraut (yeah, that would be another reason to get a cuisinart! Slicing cabbage is not enjoyable...). And in the days I ate fish with gefillte fish. All followed by lockshen pudding. *nods* And now I'm hungry. :)
